”Hospital transfer delays are not the doctor's fault”...Korean Medical Association requests Fire and Disaster Management Agency to revise message (South Korea)
The Korean Medical Association (KMA) has requested the Fire and Disaster Management Agency to revise the mobile phone messages sent by fire stations to callers requesting ambulances, arguing that they blame collective actions by the medical community for delays in transportation.
On the 2nd, the Medical Association issued a press release stating, "Regarding the measures to be taken when requesting ambulances from fire stations on the front lines, we have sent a notice to inform the informant that 'hospital transfers will be delayed due to collective action by the medical community.'"
"We have confirmed that the email was sent in the same manner. On the 1st, we sent a letter to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency requesting that they correct the content of the message."

According to a report, the Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters announced that they had dispatched to the location notified by the caller, and said, "Currently, due to collective action by the medical community, delays in transport to hospitals are expected, so please take this into consideration."
The medical association stated, "Although it is clear that the current medical situation was triggered by the government's erroneous policies, the government is shifting the responsibility for the delay in transporting patients to hospitals onto medical staff. This is a disparagement between the public and the medical community.
"It threatens to undermine trust among staff and completely undermine what essential medical care remains."
