President Yoon's approval rating ”drops” for the first time in four weeks (South Korea)
A public opinion poll was released on the 5th showing that South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating has fallen for the first time in four weeks.
The South Korean polling agency Realmeter conducted a survey of 10,000 people in the country between the 29th of last month and the 2nd of this month.
According to a survey conducted in the second week of August among 2,510 voters aged 8 and above, President Yoon's approval rating was 32.8%, down 1.9 percentage points from the previous week.
President Yoon's approval rating had been rising slightly since the first week of July (31.1%), but has now fallen for the first time in four weeks.
Disapproval rose 1.4 percentage points to 63.2%, a slight decline from the first week of July (65.3%), but remained at 61.8% in the fourth week of July and 62.2% in the fourth week of July.
Meanwhile, in a survey of party approval ratings conducted among 1,002 voters on the 1st and 2nd of this month, the ruling People's Power Party recorded 38.5% and the Democratic Party of Japan recorded 36.5%.
The ruling party rose 0.1% from last week, and the Democratic Party also rose 0.2%. It was followed by the Fatherland Reform Party (9.4%), the New Reform Party (4.3%), the Progressive Party (1.9%), and the New Future Party (0.9%).
