Car runs onto sidewalk, 1 dead, 1 injured... ”Sudden acceleration” claims in Seoul, South Korea

A vehicle ran onto a sidewalk on the grounds of an apartment building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea, killing one pedestrian and injuring another.
On the 5th, Seoul Yongsan Police Station arrested a male driver in his late 50s, Mr. A, for violating the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling (causing death).
A is accused of driving a car into a sidewalk near Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul at around 11:03 a.m. on the same day, resulting in death and injury.
In the accident, one woman in her 50s was transported to the hospital but died, and one woman in her 80s is currently receiving treatment. It was confirmed that Mr. A was not injured.
During police investigation, Mr. A was found to have made a statement to the effect that "the car didn't listen to me."
It was determined that Mr. A had not been drinking or taking drugs. Police are currently investigating the details of the accident.
