China's logistics industry index falls 0.6 month-on-month to 51 in July - Chinese media

The China Logistics Purchasing Federation recently announced that China's logistics industry economic index for July was 51, down 0.6 points from the previous month.
Economists at the association said the index's growth slowed in July due to extreme heat and localized flooding.
"Although the demand for rail, road and air transport has slowed, business demand continues to grow and the expansion trend is maintained," he said. The development situation of the industry is stable, with the rail, road and air transport industries, warehousing and logistics industries, cargo handling and transportation industries, and postal services industries all seeing strong growth.
The total business volume index for the delivery and other industries is within the range indicating a favorable economic situation. Although the total business volume index for July fell 0.6 points year-on-year, it maintained an expansionary range. The new orders index fell 0.7 points year-on-year.
The business activity expectations index fell 0.7 points to 54.6, but has remained at a high level of around 55 for five consecutive months, indicating that companies have relatively good growth expectations.
