北朝鮮の「ミサイル配置」に…韓国合同参謀本部議長「敵には恐怖を国民には信頼を」
On North Korea's ”missile deployment”... Chairman of the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff: ”Take fear out of your enemies and trust out of your people”
With North Korea declaring that it would "deploy more than 250 new tactical ballistic missiles near the inter-Korean border," the South Korean military has confirmed its readiness to respond to provocations from North Korea.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myoung-soo visited the Marine Corps Command and the Northwest Island Command on the 6th and held a military briefing on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Chairman Kim inspected the operational readiness and encouraged the Marines who are defending the Northwest Islands and the western border of the capital area.
Chairman Kim said, "As the enemy's strategic and tactical provocations are becoming more sophisticated, if the enemy provokes us, we will fight like our senior Marines did in the artillery battle on Yeonpyeong Island, risking their lives.
"We must be able to inspire fear in our enemies and confidence in our people by becoming an army that does not look back, does not hesitate, and acts boldly and resolutely," he said.
