30,000 livestock die in one day in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province amid scorching heat - South Korea
Many livestock have died in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province, South Korea, where a heat wave has continued for 19 days.
According to the Jeollanam-do government on the 7th, 29,079 livestock died on 11 farms in the province.
Specifically, 27,004 chickens, 210 ducks, and 1,864 pigs died, and property damage worth 700 million won (approximately 74.68 million yen) occurred.
Since the start of counting deaths and damages caused by the heatwave on June 17th, a total of 102,464 people have died, and the cumulative damage to property is estimated at 1.3 billion yen.
The total amount of the 100,000 won (approximately 138.7 million yen) has reached 100,000 won. The 19-day heat wave in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province has been continuing for 10 days since the 20th of last month, with the highest perceived temperature reaching 37.6 degrees Celsius in the afternoon of that day.
