Concerns over the ”Nankai Trough Earthquake”… South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs ”will closely monitor developments and adjust travel warnings”
Regarding the possibility of a Nankai Trough earthquake occurring, the South Korean government stated that it will "closely monitor local developments and consider raising or adjusting travel warnings."
On the 13th, South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We will carefully consider raising the travel warning level based on various circumstances, including the measures taken by the Japanese government and the trends of major countries.
The South Korean government lifted the Level 1 travel warning (travel caution) that had been in place for all of Japan since last month, except for the areas affected by the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster.
Meanwhile, a Level 3 travel warning (departure recommendation) remains in place for areas within a 30-kilometer radius of the Fukushima nuclear power plant and areas under evacuation orders designated by the Japanese government.
However, following the earthquake that occurred in Miyazaki Prefecture on the 8th of this month, there is talk of the possibility of a major earthquake occurring in the future.
There is widespread unrest in the country.
