Hanwha Solutions, which is involved in energy-related businesses, has acquired 100% of the shares of Hanwha B&B, which is involved in the restaurant business, etc., through Hanwha Galleria, which operates the Galleria Department Store.
Hanwha B&B was established in 2013 as a physical division of the food and beverage division of Hanwha Galleria. Its main brands include ice cream and pastry shops.
The creamery is home to Beans & Berries, which was certified as a social enterprise by the South Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2014 for its efforts, such as hiring baristas from low-income families.
Hanwha B&B was transferred to the Galleria division of Hanwha Solutions when Hanwha Galleria was absorbed into Hanwha Solutions in April 2021.
In 2011, Hanwha Galleria became an independent corporation again, but Hanwha B&B remained as a subsidiary of Hanwha Solutions.
A Hanwha Solutions official said, "Hanwha B&B, which is primarily in the restaurant business, is part of our portfolio.
"We decided to sell it to Hanwha Galleria in order to improve efficiency," the company said. Hanwha Galleria is also running an ice cream shop called "EBA Ice Cream."
In addition to collaborating with Hanwha Cream, we expect to see synergistic effects with Hanwha B&B in the expansion of the new brand.
