The National Police Agency of Korea announced on the 15th that it had cracked down on a total of 789 cases of motorcycle gangs in a special crackdown across the country ahead of Liberation Day (a day commemorating liberation from colonial rule).
On the 14th and 15th, the National Police Agency deployed a total of 3,102 traffic police officers and 1,230 patrol cars and other equipment in a special crackdown on motorcycle gangs across the country.
As a result, there were 97 violations of the Automobile Management Law, including 1 case of aggressive driving, 39 cases of drunk driving, 20 cases of driving without a license, illegal modifications and concealed license plates, etc.
A total of 789 cases were uncovered, including 632 others. The police plan to carry out criminal punishment for serious violations of the law, such as joint dangerous acts, after analyzing evidence.
A National Police Agency official said, "We will use the manpower and equipment of the traffic, detective and riot police to crack down on reckless and aggressive driving on holidays and weekends.
"We will open it," he said.
