”Aladdin” production team selects Kim Jun Su (Xia) & Lee Sung Kyoung, impressed by the talent of Korean musical actors

The original creative team of the musical "Aladdin" spoke about the level of actors in Korean musicals.

The auditions were held over 10 rounds with Korean creators. Aladdin was voiced by Kim Jun Su (Xia), Seo Kyung Soo, and Park Kang Hyun, and Genie was voiced by Jung Sung Hwa and Jung Woo.
Lee Sung Kyoung, Min Kyung Ah, and Choi Ji Hye will play the roles of Nyeon, Kang Hong Seok, and Jasmine. The executive producer said, "We decided to go to Korea because of Casey's direction and the Korean casting.
"I was able to feel how much the abilities of Korean musical actors have improved," he recalled. Director Casey said, "It was a really fun process. There were a lot of great actors, so I think it was fun."
It was really powerful. It was interesting to see the talent of the musical actors," said the executive producer, who added, "I heard that it was difficult to choose because there were so many talented actors.
"Aladdin" will be performed in two cities, Seoul and Busan. The Seoul version will open on November 22 and run until June 22 next year at the Charlotte Theater, while the Busan version will open next year.
It will open at Dream Theater in July.
