People's Power Chairman Han Dong-hoon's proposal to broadcast a live meeting with Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung has been criticized by members of the People's Power as being ”like a presidential debate” (South Korea)
Yoon Sang Hyun, a member of the ruling People's Power Party, suggested on the 21st that Chairman Han Dong-hoon and Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung have their meeting broadcast live.
Regarding the fact that the first round of the presidential election TV debate was being held, Yoon pointed out that it was not appropriate.
The Chief of Staff said so, but there is a precondition. If the Democratic Party of Korea agrees, it is possible," he said sarcastically. Since there is no reason for the Democratic Party of Korea to accept it, the possibility of live broadcasting is unclear.
Yoon said, "It seems that (Park) spoke at the level of ideas. The meeting is not something that is held like an event, and the meeting is held for mutual consideration in order to reach a conclusion."
"There are many things that cannot be made public frankly. That is what negotiations are about. How can we broadcast negotiations live?"
Meanwhile, Chairman Han met with reporters at the National Assembly that afternoon and said, "The Democratic Party of Korea did not say it would be a new Democratic Party or have new politics.
"The public does not seem to be uncomfortable seeing the leaders of the ruling and opposition parties talking to each other," he said. "The public is watching the discussion process and how the leaders of both parties are handling the issues."
I don't find that unpleasant, I think it's actually a good thing."
