俳優イ・ミンホ、“出演分量が少なくても構わない”比重ではない共感で選んだ「パチンコ」01
Actor Lee Min-ho: ”I don't mind if my appearances are small” - He chose ”Pachinko” because of empathy, not because of the weight
Actor Lee Min-ho chose "Pachinko" because he felt empathy for the characters, not because of the amount of screen time he had.
A press conference was held for the TV+ series "Pachinko" Season 2 (hereinafter "Pachinko 2"). Actress Yoon Yeo-Jung, actor Lee Min-ho, actress Kim Min-Ha, and others were present.
, Jung Eun Chae, and actor Kim Seong Kyu (INFINITE) participated. "Pachinko," which will release its first season in 2022, is a story about a village in Yeongdo, Busan in 1915, which was reborn as a village in New York in 1989.
The film depicts the hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean immigrant family, spanning time and space from Korea to Japan. It has attracted much attention as an overseas OTT project sheds light on the history of Korea during the Japanese colonial period.
In the drama, Lee Minho plays Hans, a charming character who completely shakes up Songja's (Kim MinHa, later Yoon YeoJung) life.
From an innocent young man trying to live an honest life in an unfamiliar place called Japan to a cold and cold businessman,
The delicate emotional acting he expressed along with his delicate relationship with Songja captured the attention of viewers. "Pachinko" was started by global actor Lee Min-ho, who joined the cast after auditioning.
Lee Min-ho, who showed his desire to work on "Pachinko" by auditioning for the first time in 13 years, said at the press conference on the same day, "During that time, I was not noticed and I was not interested in it.
"It was meaningful and moving to know that such a story that was not even mentioned before had been shown interest in such a large market," he said.
There was also a lot of talk about the amount of screen time he had in "Kim Hyun-soo." Regarding the fact that his screen time was smaller than expected, Lee Min-ho said, "The episode about Hans' childhood in season 1 was not a formal one, but it was something that was made.
"The length of the film has never been the criterion for me to select films," he said, adding, "There have been no opportunities to show films like this in Korean films.
Just like with "Pachinko," I think I will choose future works if I come across a character whose message I can empathize with.
"I think I will choose the work regardless of the amount of appearances," he emphasized. Meanwhile, "Pachinko" season 2 consists of a total of 8 episodes, and the first episode will be broadcast today (23rd).
episodes will be available on Apple TV+ every Friday through October 11th.
