Shanghai's total exports and imports from January to July rose 0.7% year-on-year - Chinese media
According to statistics recently released by Shanghai Customs in China, the city's total exports and imports from January to July this year amounted to 2.46 trillion former (about 50 trillion yen), up 0.7% from the same period last year.
Of this, exports increased 2.2% to 1.01 trillion former (approximately 20 trillion yen), while imports decreased 0.4% to 1.45 trillion former (approximately 29 trillion yen).
By trade type, general trade amounted to 1.47 trillion former (approximately 30 trillion yen), roughly the same level as the same period last year, while imports and exports
The amount of processed trade decreased by 2.9% to 327.38 billion former (about 7 trillion yen), while the amount of trade using bonded logistics increased by 3.4% to 643.97 billion former (about 13 trillion yen).
By type of company, foreign companies accounted for 57.4% of the total. Private companies accounted for 31.8% and state-owned companies for 10.7%. However, exports and imports by foreign companies decreased compared to the same period last year.
While it fell by 2.5%, private enterprises increased by 3.8% and state-owned enterprises increased by 11.4%.
By trading partner, trade with ASEAN increased by 5.0% to 324.42 billion former (approximately 7 trillion
In addition, trade with South Korea and Switzerland both recorded double-digit growth. By item, exports of ships increased 108.3% to 39.32 billion yen (approximately 790 billion yen),
Unwrought copper and copper materials increased by 182.1% to 13.72 billion formers (approximately 280 billion yen). Imports of metal ores and iron ores showed double-digit growth.
