China's industrial companies of national scale or above posted 3.6% increase in profits in January-July from a year earlier: Chinese media

China's National Bureau of Statistics announced on the 27th that the total profits of industrial enterprises with national-scale or larger revenues (enterprises with annual main operating revenues of 20 million yen or more) in the first seven months of the year increased 3.6% year-on-year to 4.99 trillion yen.
The company announced that its net profit was 170 million former (approximately 83 trillion yen). Looking at the profit situation by major industry, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing increased by 79.3%, while computers, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased by 10.7%.
The food and beverage industry grew 25.1% year-on-year, agricultural and side-food processing industry grew 23.9%, and electricity and energy production and supply industry grew 23.2% year-on-year, showing high growth rates.
On the other hand, coal mining and cleaning industry saw a decline of 21.7% and non-metallic mineral product manufacturing industry saw a decline of 48.8%.
The fuel processing industry and the black metal smelting and rolling processing industry both turned from profits in the same period of the previous year into losses.
