China travel site Ctrip Group reports second-quarter sales of 12.8 billion yen
Trip.com Group, China's largest travel site, has announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter of 2024 (April-June).
The company's second quarter sales increased 14% year-on-year to 12.8 billion yen. Adjusted EBITDA
Sales increased by 700 million former to 4.4 billion former (approximately 89.4 billion yen) from 3.7 billion former in the same period of the previous year. Net profit was 3.9 billion former (approximately 79.2 billion yen), an increase of 51.85%.
By business type, sales from hotel reservations increased 20% to 5.1 billion yen (approximately 103.6 billion yen), and travel-related sales increased 42% to 5.1 billion yen.
Revenues from sales and revenues from operations were up 1 billion former (approximately 20.3 billion yen), business travel management services increased 8% to 633 million former (approximately 12.8 billion yen), and public transport ticket-related services increased 1% to 4.9 billion former (approximately 99.5 billion yen).
According to Ctrip, during the same period, the travel market saw an increase in demand for overseas travel, and the company's overseas travel-related business also saw a rapid increase.
Flight bookings have recovered to levels comparable to the same period in 2019, before the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
