海水浴場に旭日旗を持ってきた70代…「2008年の検察捜査に不満」=韓国
Man in his 70s brings rising sun flag to beach... ”unhappy with 2008 prosecutor's investigation” = South Korea
An incident occurred in Gwangan-ri, Busan, South Korea, when a man in his 70s was driving an electric wheelchair while flying the Rising Sun flag, forcing district office staff to be called in.
According to the Suyeong district of Busan, a man in his 70s, A, was in his electric wheelchair at Gwangalli Beach around 10 a.m. on the 28th.
A complaint was received that a child was walking around with the Rising Sun flag attached to it. Mr. A had been walking around the road by the sea at Gwangalli Beach in this state for about 10 minutes.
He said he acted in this way to express his dissatisfaction in relation to being investigated by the prosecution in 2008.
A ward official said, "Our staff went to the scene, but there was no legal basis, such as an ordinance, to prevent Mr. A's actions, so we were unable to stop him.
"It started raining and Mr. A returned home soon after," he explained. Earlier in the day, June 6, a housing complex in Suyeong-gu was in the middle of a fire.
In one case, a resident of an apartment building hung the Rising Sun flag on the windows and exterior walls of his own home in an attempt to make his conflict with the ward office public, sparking controversy.
