Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of the communications app Telegram, has been released from prison.
On the 28th (local time), French prosecutors arrested him on bail of 5 million euros (approximately 800 million yen).
Russian state media RIA Novosti showed Durov being released from custody in a Paris court.
The French prosecutor's office said Durov had used Telegram to spread child pornography and promote illegal activities.
Meanwhile, Telegram's Toncoin (TON) was trading at $5.56 (about 87%) as of 10:40 a.m. on the 29th (Japan time), up 7.45% from 24 hours ago.
The price of the cryptocurrency recorded a record high of ¥6, according to CoinMarketCap. This is a 14.89% drop from seven days ago, but it has partially recovered from the drop to $5.6 following Durov’s arrest.
That's what happened.
