CCAHR will include researchers from LG Electronics, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Xi'an Jiao Tong University who are involved in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology.
The company will operate a new research facility in the Mohe region of Harbin, where it will conduct research to provide HVAC solutions.
Prior to this, the company has organized heat pump consortia in Alaska, USA in November 2023 and Oslo, Norway in June 2024.
In Alaska, they are testing products such as heat pump heating and cooling systems and hot water heaters in a laboratory that resembles a real room. In Oslo, the temperature is similar to that of Alaska, but the humidity is very high.
In Harbin, the company will test major HVAC products, including residential air conditioners, to improve heating performance and energy efficiency in extreme cold conditions.
At the same time, the company is accelerating the construction of an organization that handles everything from R&D to sales, maintenance and repairs. It currently operates air solution research centers in five locations: Korea, North America, Europe and India.
The company has HVAC academies in 62 regions in 43 countries around the world, training more than 30,000 engineers every year.
