Police arrest man who threatened to kill anti-Japanese activist Professor Seo Kyung-duk (South Korea)
Police have arrested a man who made online threats to kill Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University, known as a "Korean public relations expert."
According to Professor Seo and the police on the 3rd, suspect A, who recently made an internet posting threatening to kill Professor Seo, was arrested and sent to the prosecution.
Professor Xu told Fei Book today, "I received a call from the National Police Agency yesterday (2nd) and the suspect who was arrested was found guilty.
The case was accepted and sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment," he said. "The case was resolved thanks to the concern and support of many internet users."
Professor Seo, who was interviewed by the victim last week, said, "I read the comments that the suspect posted on the portal site.
I saw it and it was horrifying. The only thing that came to my mind was, 'How could someone post something like this?'" "It is unthinkable that someone would hide behind anonymity and send such death threats to someone.
"This is something that should never have happened," he said. "I would like to express my gratitude to the internet users who reported the post as soon as they saw it," he said, "and also to the swift investigation that led to the arrest of the perpetrator.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the detectives at the Incheon National Police Agency and the police officers at the local police box who helped me and checked on my safety day and night."
Prior to this, on the 20th of last month, around midnight, three police officers visited Professor Seo's home.
The investigation began after a threatening message was posted to the police, threatening to kill Professor Xu.
