Kim Jun-hyung, a lawmaker from the Fatherland Reform Party, ”returns the mid-autumn celebration gift from President Yoon Seok-yeol”... Why? = South Korea
Kim Jun-hyung, a lawmaker from the Fatherland Reform Party, said on the 4th that he had returned gifts sent by President Yoon Seok-yeol to lawmakers for the mid-autumn celebration (Chuseok, mid-autumn festival).
On the same day, Rep. Kim wrote on her blog, "I'm returning the gift from the president for his mid-autumn celebration." Rep. Kim said, "A while ago, I received an unpleasant gift in my office.
"I clearly said, 'I won't accept it,' but they're acting selfishly," he said. "They've been acting selfishly in diplomacy, in appointing ministers, and even skipping the opening ceremony.
"I sent the gift back immediately because I didn't want to see the gift from the president," Kim said.
"I'm sorry to the people," he said, but he also said to President Yoon, "It's time to give a gift that was made with the sweat and blood of the people, even though we don't mean it. I really want you to be considerate of the people."
"Yes," he wrote.
