Five labor unions at Samsung Electronics have simultaneously submitted a request for negotiations to the company. The five unions plan to move forward with “autonomous unification” from the 12th, when they will lose their representative negotiating rights.
According to the industry on the 8th, Samsung Electronics announced on the 6th that it had finalized negotiation requests with the Samsung Electronics Labor Union (Korean 3 Labor Union and 4 Labor Unions), Samsung Electric, and other labor unions through the "Notice of Finalization of Labor Union Demands for Negotiations."
Along with the subsidiary unions (3 accompanying unions), the administrative union (1 union), the European and American network union (2 unions), and the Samsung Group super-company union Samsung Electronics branch (formerly the DX union, 5 unions) all joined together.
The unions will autonomously proceed with the unification of negotiation windows for two weeks from the 12th. After that, the majority unions will be notified and the negotiating representative union will be determined.
During the selection process, other labor unions can file objections with the Labor Relations Commission, but Zensanro has the largest number of union members and is therefore more likely to have representative negotiating rights.
However, the largest labor union, Zensanro, and the Accompanying Labor Union are at odds, and the process is expected to be difficult.
The fourth-term executive committee was launched and an email was sent to all employees, forming a conflict with the Korean Workers' Union. At the time, Park Jae-yeon, chairman of the Korean Workers' Union, said, "First, we will discuss policies, not strikes or rallies."
The bank's labor union had previously criticized the strike by Zensanro, saying it was "on a path that cannot hope for a reasonable outcome."
Zensanro said, "If autonomous unification does not occur, the majority union must notify users that it is the majority union.
As of the date of the negotiation request, the number of members in each union was 36,616 for the Jeonsanro Group, 36,616 for the Samsung Group, and 1,000 for the Samsung Group.
These are the Samsung Electronics branch of the super-company union (5,938 members), the accompanying union (1,051 members), the European and American network union (10 members), and the administrative union (3 members).
