This time, he will be holding his first solo Asia tour. In Japan, he will perform in Yokohama and Osaka in June, and in Nagoya in August, and then in Tokyo on September 7th and 8th, for a total of 7 shows in 4 cities.
The tour ended with a spectacular performance, with all performances sold out and a total of 36,400 people in attendance. The performance began with a video of Do Yeong standing quietly at dawn as the sun began to rise.
After the video, which hinted at a new beginning in the story, she appeared in a glittering white outfit through the gauze screen, performing the song "Beginning" from her solo debut album "YOUTH".
Do Yeong appeared on stage. She sang powerful high notes, captivating the audience. She declared, "Today I will sing with all my heart," and then sang "Like a Star" and "Lost In Wonderland."
He performed album tracks "California" and "Maniac" one after the other, enchanting the audience with a stage filled with Do Yeong's sensibility as a solo artist.
In the first MC part, he greeted the fans in Japanese, saying, "It's been a while. How are you?" His fluent Japanese and unexpected polite greeting left everyone in the venue in awe.
Fans' voices of surprise and joy echoed throughout the venue. Do Yeong conducted most of the MC in Japanese, wanting to have a fun conversation with his Japanese fans.
"Thank you so much!" he said, expressing his gratitude to his fans in Japanese using the word "metta" that he recently learned as a "youth slang." When drinking water in between, he said, "Please keep talking among yourself."
"This song is only for Japanese fans to hear. It's harder to sing than the other songs.
It's difficult, but everyone is concentrating seriously, so I'll do my best. " He then performed the insert song "Cry" for the TV series "Starry Night," which aired on TV Asahi from January to March 2023.
He performed songs from his solo debut album, "Rewind" and "Warmth". While focusing on songs from his solo debut album, he also performed songs from "NCT", which were indispensable to Do Yeong's youth, and songs from the Tokyo Metropolitan
The concert kept the audience excited with a diverse set list, which included Japanese cover songs that had been prepared just for the show.
The song "Dreams Come True" by "NCT 127" was also performed with a band arrangement.
In the song "True," Do Yeong asked, "You all know this song, right?" and the fans in the venue joined in unison.
The excitement grew even more. The lead song of "YOUTH", "Little Light", which left a strong impression on the audience, was performed towards the end of the show, and the loudest cheers of the day spread throughout the venue.
As fans conveyed their feelings to the music, calling out Do Yeong's name and singing along, he placed his hands on his chest on the stage and sang along to the fans' voices.
Do Yeong's appearance of trying to feel the emotion with his whole body was impressive. During the encore MC, he expressed sadness that this would be his last performance in Japan, saying, "It's only thanks to you all that I'm able to sing in such a big venue.
Thank you so much," he said, adding, "NCT 127 is in our own place, so please come back anytime."
Do Yeong spoke of his future where he will continue to walk with his fans as always. And at the end of the encore, he rode a trolley around the venue. He was so moved by the never-ending cheers from the fans that he shed tears.
Do Yeong's passion for the tour and his fans was apparent. Perhaps his passion was conveyed, as the applause and calls for Do Yeong continued even after he disappeared from the stage.
Responding to the cheers, they came back on stage for a double encore and sang "Rest." Amidst thunderous applause, they bowed deeply to the entire audience once again and the performance came to a close.
Not only does he have a skillful singing voice, but he also has the emotional expressiveness that makes him the "King of OSTs," Do Yeong's own sincerity, kindness, and honest, straightforward personality.
