The group donated 30 million won (approximately 3.12 million yen) to the charity, which they said would be used for the "Continued Assistance Project." The "Continued Assistance Project" is a project to support people who are experiencing difficulties due to economic reasons even after disasters such as floods.
Hope Bridge selects areas to support based on the extent of disaster damage, etc., and determines the recipients of support through recommendations and on-site interviews by the local governments. The selected generations are visited four times a year to provide food, medicine, daily necessities, etc.
Lim Siwan said, "I decided to donate because I heard the news that those who suffered from the disaster are still living in difficult circumstances and I wanted to help them, even though it is a small amount. I hope that the victims of the disaster will continue to live in the future.
"I will do my best to help the victims recover from their normal lives," he said. This is not Lim Siwan's first good deed. In 2019, he made a donation to support the victims of the forest fire in Gangwon Province, and every year, he donates to the victims of typhoons and forest fires.
He provides support to victims of disasters big and small, such as fires and earthquakes in Churkiye. To date, Lim Siwan has donated a total of 120 million won (approximately 12.5 million yen).
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude and respect to Lim Siwan for his continued participation in sharing based on his positive influence."
"Hope Bridge will do our utmost to ensure that Lim Siwan's wishes are conveyed clearly to the victims," said the company. The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, a disaster relief fundraising organization, is collecting donations for natural disaster relief in Korea.
It is the only legal relief organisation that can provide assistance.
