According to documents submitted to Rep. Jung-sen's office by the National Police Agency on the 16th, 13,157 young people aged 14 to 18 were arrested for school violence between January and August this year.
The number of young people arrested for school violence is increasing every year. In 2020, it was 11,331, in 2021 it was 11,968, and in 2022 it was 14,436.

Nearly half (47.2%, 6,213 people) were treated as having been closed before filing charges, while 35.3% (4,640 people) were referred to the prosecutor's office.
Fifty-seven juveniles were handed over to the prosecutor's office under custody. 17.5% (2,304) were referred to the juvenile division of the court.
Those aged 14 or older are not considered "criminal minors" but have been arrested.
Nearly half of the cases are interpreted as cases of relatively minor school violence, where the students received disciplinary action from the school instead of being formally charged.
