Louisiana, USA, introduces cryptocurrency payment system: first successful Bitcoin payment

The US state of Louisiana has allowed cryptocurrency payments for state government services, with the Wildlife and Fish Department making the first cryptocurrency payment.
"Louisiana residents can use Bitcoin, the Bitcoin Lightning Network, and the U.S. Dollar," Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming said in a statement on the 17th.
"You can make payments with any cryptocurrency wallet using USD Coin, a stablecoin linked to the blockchain."
The Louisiana government has announced that the state treasurer will use some cryptocurrencies to provide state government services.
The first crypto payment has already been made after the Louisiana Wildlife Service announced it would offer the option to pay for its services through the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
