Korean man brings ”Tteokbokki and Tempura” to Starbucks... ”I couldn't believe my eyes”
A customer was spotted bringing in and eating a tteokbokki and tigim (tempura) set at Starbucks, a large franchise cafe.
On the 20th, according to KNN News and other sources, internet user A posted a video on his Instagram.
The video shows a couple, believed to be in their 30s, visiting a Starbucks with their child and eating tteokbokki and tigim by bringing them in plates instead of in takeout containers.
Mr. A, who posted the video, said, "This is Starbucks. I couldn't believe my eyes," and added, "(The customer) was eating with great gusto, and the staff came over and explained the situation to him in a very polite and kind way."
In the end, the customer was stopped by staff and left the restaurant with the plates of tteokbokki and tigim, but he did not clean up his drinks or the trash he had left behind.
On the other hand, Starbucks allows customers to bring some food into the store if they order a drink.
The container must be within 15 centimetres in length and 30 centimetres in width, and must be placed in a container or bag. However, pizza, hamburgers and other items that emit odors or can be stored in a microwave oven are not allowed.
Foods that need to be heated or large foods that may stain the table are prohibited from being brought in.
