The trial service is a project run by the Ministry of Communications, Industry and Energy of South Korea, and was led by SK Tellink in the development of the service.
Hyundai's electric truck "ST1" equipped with a high-speed charger will visit the customer's EV location and charge it. The service will charge the EV at 60 km/h, which is about 10 times faster than a home quick charger.
The trial service will be offered to people selected by lottery. SK Tellink will visit customers' designated locations and charge their EVs in safe locations.
In addition, the company has partnered with car wash companies to provide free steam cleaning of the inside and outside of cars. SK Tellink, which owns EV quick charging infrastructure at over 4,000 locations nationwide, is also working to provide free charging on expressways.
The company operates chargers at major locations, including service areas. An SK Tellink representative said, "The on-site charging service is available for those who are in areas where EV charging infrastructure is insufficient, or
"This will be a great help in the event of an unexpected discharge."
