The results of a public opinion poll announced on the 25th showed that South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating, which had been in the high 20 percent range for nearly a month, has fallen further.
Four South Korean polling companies, Mbrain Public, KEI Stat Research, Korea Research, and Korea Research, conducted a survey of 18,000 South Koreans between the 23rd and 25th of this month.
According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted in the fourth week of September among 1,005 men and women aged 65 and over, President Yoon's approval rating was calculated to be 25%.
This is a 2% drop from the survey conducted in the first week of September and the lowest reading by the NBS since President Yoon took office.
President Yoon's approval rating had remained stable in the 20% range for seven weeks from the third week of April, but rose to 30% in the fourth week of July, but has now once again fallen to the 20% range.
The disapproval rate was 69%. Meanwhile, the approval rating for political parties was calculated as 28% for the ruling People's Power Party and 26% for the Democratic Party of Japan.
The order was the Fatherland Reform Party (12%), the New Reform Party (4%), and the Progressive Party (1%).
Regarding the "two-state theory," 54% of respondents said, "North Korea should be recognized as a separate country," and 50% said, "The entire Korean Peninsula is our territory according to the Constitution, so North Korea should not be recognized as a separate country."
