Actor Choi Jeong Hyup will be heading to Antarctica with actress Lim Soo Hyang, SUHO from the Korean boy group EXO, and food expert Baek Jongwon.
According to MBC on the 26th (today), "Antarctic Chef" is a show that will prepare a hot meal for the crew members who are surviving the winter in the harsh Antarctic environment, with only a sense of mission.
The four are deployed to Antarctica, at the forefront of climate change research, as members of a team that will spend the winter there, and the program will document their lives there.
MBC is visiting Antarctica for the first time in 13 years since the "Tears of Antarctica" series to convey the message of climate change and the Antarctic ecosystem.
The production team said, "This project was started from chef Baek Jongwon's sincere desire to create meaningful food in Antarctica.
Ng, Suho, and Choi Jeong-hyeop are also fully prepared to fulfill their roles as members of the expedition in Antarctica, so we ask for your anticipation."
Meanwhile, MBC's "Antarctic Chef" is scheduled to air in the first half of 2025.
