The short film, which Kim Nam Gil produced in collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank, aims to encourage young people preparing for independence to take their first steps in society and to raise social awareness.
The protagonist in the film, a young man preparing to become independent, was under the care of a child care facility and a foster home, but after turning 18, the care ended and he became independent.
This refers to young people who must prepare for life after their care ends, and in many cases these young people are not sufficiently prepared to stand on their own after care ends and have difficulty becoming independent.
In response, Kim Nam Gil, the representative of the cultural and arts NGO "GIL STORY," encouraged young people to become emotionally independent through culture and the arts.
In order to lay the foundation for providing help, we planned and produced "How to Open the Door" as part of the "Road Together" campaign together with KB Kookmin Bank.
"How to Open the Door" is a sequel to "The Day I Died" starring Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Eun, and Noh Jung Eun.
Director Park Ji-wan, winner of the New Director Award at the Korea Art Awards, and director Heo Ji-ae, who has directed many independent films such as "Two Women's Room" and "Save the Cat," are co-writers and directors of this mystery drama.
The role of Haneul, a young man preparing to become independent, is played by actress Kim Jong Un, who appeared in the TV series "Hi Cookie," "The Queen's Return," and "People at the Meteorological Agency:

"How to Open a Door" is an All Day Cinema (All Day Cinema) film at the Busan International Film Festival.
