Recently, according to Korean media, Yunho (U-KNOW) sold a building in Pungnam-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul in October 2016 for 37,000 square meters.
The contract was concluded for 890,000 won (approximately 4.15 million yen), totaling 16.3 billion won (approximately 1.78 billion yen). Yunho (U-KNOW) purchased the building under the name of a family corporation in which his father is the CEO.
Of the purchase price of 16.3 billion won at the time, 12.7 billion won (approximately 1.38 billion yen) was invested in cash, and the remaining 3.6 billion won (approximately 393.28 million yen) was borrowed.
The total cost, including all expenses, is estimated to be about 17.3 billion won (about 1.889 billion yen). The building, which was completed in 1983, has one basement floor and five floors above ground, and occupies an area of 400 square meters.
It is 30 pyong in size, with a building area of 189 pyong and a total floor area of 1,186 pyong, and is located extremely close to the station, in front of Exit 9 of Cheonho Station on Seoul Subway Lines 5 and 8.
The building currently houses Samsung Life Insurance, and diagonally across is the Hyundai Department Store Cheonho branch.
The media quoted Kim Kyung-hyun, a brokerage agent at Building Road Real Estate, as saying, "Looking at transactions in the neighborhood, we estimated that Yunho (U-KNOW)'s building was worth 1.2 billion yen in 2016.
"Compared to when the shares were purchased, we can expect to make a market profit of more than 24.5 billion won (approximately 2.675 billion yen) over the next eight years."
