Police arrest and indict retired medical resident who created and spread blacklist of medical industry (South Korea)
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Crime Investigation Team announced on the 1st that a retired medical resident, surnamed Jeong, was arrested and sent to the prosecution on the 27th of last month on charges of creating and disseminating a blacklist of the medical community.
According to police, in July, Jeong created a blacklist of doctors who did not participate in the collective actions of the medical community, and then posted on Telegram and in communities for doctors and medical students.
Jung is accused of posting on the internet site "Medical Staff" several times (violating the Stalker Punishment Act). Jung has referred to doctors who have remained in the medical field or returned to work as "thankful doctors."
The posts included sarcastic comments, real names, contact information, former member schools, hospitals and departments of study, etc. Police said on the 12th of last month that suspect Jung had been continuously spreading personal information online against the will of the individuals involved.
Based on these and other points, an arrest warrant was applied for on suspicion of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, and the court issued the warrant, citing concerns that evidence might be destroyed.
