South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement this morning that "a garbage balloon believed to have been sent by North Korea toward South Korea is floating in the air," and that "based on the current wind direction, it is likely to be flying toward northern Gyeonggi Province and the greater Seoul area."
The Joint Chiefs of Staff also urged people to "be on the lookout for falling balloons, and if you find a fallen balloon, do not approach it but instead report it to the nearest military unit or police."
This is the first time North Korea has scattered trash balloons at South Korea since the 22nd of last month, 10 days ago. Meanwhile, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said on the 23rd of last month that "North Korea's trash balloons have caused serious harm to the safety of our citizens."
"If we are determined to have crossed the red line or taken other steps, we will take decisive military action," the teaser said.
