President Yoon holds telephone talk with Prime Minister Ishiba... Both leaders ”want to meet as soon as possible”

"South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol spoke with Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru for 15 minutes from 3:15 to 3:30 p.m. on the 2nd," the South Korean presidential office said in a statement on the same day.
President Yoon congratulated Prime Minister Ishiba on his inauguration, saying, "As South Korea and Japan are important neighbors and partners that share values and interests, I hope that the two leaders will continue to communicate closely and increase cooperation."
In response, Prime Minister Ishiba said, "I am grateful for the Celebration letter that President Yoon sent me yesterday. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to speak with President Yoon so soon after taking office."
Prime Minister Ishiba went on to say that he highly praised President Yoon's leadership in working to develop relations between the two countries, and said, "I hope that we will continue to communicate closely and work together in the future."
The South Korean presidential office said, "Next year marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of the border, and it will be a good opportunity for Japan-South Korea relations to take a greater leap forward," and "We hope to achieve results that the people of both countries can feel directly."
The two leaders also agreed that, "In the current situation where North Korea's provocations continue, Japan, South Korea, and Japan, the United States, and South Korea need to respond in solidarity," and
They also agreed to continue to cooperate on human rights issues in North Korea, including the abduction victims of Japanese citizens and the issues of abductees, detainees, and prisoners of war in South Korea.
The two leaders further agreed to continue shuttle diplomacy and meet as soon as possible to discuss bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
