China's light industry firms' net profits up 12.4% in January-August from a year earlier: Chinese report

The China Light Industry Federation recently released the economic situation of the light industry in the first eight months of this year. According to the report, the operating revenue of light industry enterprises above a certain size increased 1.2% year-on-year in the first eight months of this year.
Revenues increased 1.6% to 14.45 trillion yen (approximately 304.2 trillion yen), and net profit increased 12.4% to 889.28 billion yen (approximately 18.72 trillion yen).
An official from the association said, "Since the beginning of this year, the economic situation in the light industry has been generally stable thanks to policies encouraging the replacement of consumer goods."

Of the 21 types of light industrial products exported, 12 saw an increase from the previous fiscal year. Among these, household electrical appliances, furniture, and light industrial machinery saw an increase.
