Korean Air to operate Incheon-Kumamoto route for the first time in 27 years...expanding service to ”small cities” in Japan = Korea
Korean Air, a major Korean airline, announced on the 15th that it will begin operating the Incheon-Kumamoto route (once a day) from November 24th due to increased demand for travel to Japan.
This is the first resumption of service in 27 years since the route was suspended due to the 1997 Korean currency crisis. Korean Air's Incheon-Kumamoto route has slightly different operating hours depending on the day of the week.
- On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 3:50 PM, and the return flight departs from Kumamoto Airport at 6:25 PM.
Also, on Wednesdays and Fridays, the flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 2:15 p.m. and returns.
The flight departs from Kumamoto Airport at 4:50 PM. On Sundays, the flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 4:50 PM, and the return flight departs from Kumamoto Airport at 7:20 PM.
Meanwhile, Korean Air is expanding its routes to Japan's "small cities" due to increased demand for travel to Japan.
Korean Air will operate the Incheon-Okayama route four times a week from October 27th during the winter season, and the Incheon-Kagoshima route
The number of flights will be increased to seven times a week. In addition, the Incheon-Nagasaki route, which has been suspended since 2013, is scheduled to resume operation (four times a week) from October 27, the winter season.
