Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung meets with resident physician emergency response committee chairman Park Dan to persuade him to join ruling party medical affairs council (South Korea)
On the 26th, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, held a closed-door meeting with Park Dan, emergency response committee chairman of the Korean Association of Medical Specialists.
On the same day, Representative Lee met with Emergency Response Chairman Park at a certain location in Seoul and discussed the issue of increasing the number of medical school admissions.
It is said that they persuaded him to join a consultative body between the ruling and opposition parties, the medical community, and the government (ruling and opposition medical administration), which was formed to resolve the medical gap problem inspired by the incident.
"We have arranged a closed-door meeting for in-depth dialogue," a Democratic Party official said during the call.
Lee said he tried to persuade him seriously, but whether he would join the ruling party's medical affairs consultative body is a matter for Park, the emergency response committee chairman, to decide.
This is interpreted as a will to play a responsible role as a member of the new council in the current situation where inconveniences to the medical profession are increasing.
Although the door has been opened, there are no signs of further participation from the medical community. Prior to this, Park, chairman of the emergency response committee, posted a comment on Fei Bookmark on the 23rd, asking, "What will be done through the government-government medical administration council?"
"I doubt whether that will actually happen," he said, reaffirming his negative view on participating in the consultative body.
