Paul Mescal and Fred Heckinger, directors of the film "Gladiator II: A Hero Calls," expressed their fandom for director Park Chan-wook.
On the afternoon of the 25th, a press conference was held for the movie "Gladiator 2: A Hero Calls" (distributor: Lotte Entertainment).
Participants included director Ridley Scott, as well as actors Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, and Fred Heckinger.
On this day, Fred Heckinger said, "Last year, I saw director Park Chan-wook's 'The Decision to Break Up.' It was very impressive and a really good movie."
"I thought, 'I want to work with him someday.'" Paul Mescal also praised him, saying, "He's the director of 'The Handmaiden,' right? I think it's a great director and a great movie."
"Gladiator 2: Call of Heroes" is a sequel to the 2000 film "Gladiator," which depicts gladiators from the Imperial Roman era, and tells the story of Maximus' death.
The film depicts Lucius (played by Paul Mescal) fighting a duel for the fate of Rome at the Colosseum more than 20 years after the Battle of Rome. It will be released in Japan on November 15th.
