The China Logistics Purchasing Federation recently announced that China's total social logistics volume from January to September this year increased 5.6% from the same period last year to 258.2 trillion former (approximately 5520 trillion yen).
The breakdown is as follows: agricultural products increased 3.4% to 4.2 trillion former (about 90 trillion yen), industrial products increased 5.6% to 227.7 trillion former (about 4870 trillion yen), imported goods increased 4.2% to 2.2 trillion former (about 2.2 trillion yen), and imported goods increased 5.6% to 2.2 trillion former (about 2.2 trillion yen).
% increase to 13.7 trillion former (about 293 trillion yen), renewable resources increased 10.1% to 3.5 trillion former (about 75 trillion yen), and institutional and residential goods increased 7.6% to 9.1 trillion former (about 195 trillion yen).
During the same period, total social logistics costs increased by 2.3% to 13.4 trillion yen (approximately 286 trillion yen), accounting for 14.1% of gross domestic product (GDP).
Revenues increased by 7.5 trillion former (approximately 160 trillion yen), storage costs increased by 1.9% to 4.3 trillion former (approximately 92 trillion yen), and management fees increased by 1.7% to 1.5 trillion former (approximately 32 trillion yen).
Total sales in the logistics industry increased by 3.7% to 10 trillion yen (approximately 214 trillion yen), with the rate of increase being roughly the same as in the first half of the year.
An official from the association said, "Logistics operations have been stable overall in the first three quarters of this year (January to September).
"We have seen sustained growth and steady improvement in operational efficiency."
