Actor Kim Sung Cheol has joined the cast of Netflix's "Hell is Calling" Season 2 (hereinafter "Hell 2") as Jeong Jin-soo, the first chairman of the revived New Truth Society.

The story revolves around Ja, with the involvement of lawyer Min Hye-jin from "Seo Do", the New Truth Society and the Arrowhead faction. Yu A In, who plays Chairman Jeong Jin-soo, will be stepping down due to suspicion of habitual drug use.
Kim Sung Cheol, who has emerged as a rising star through his work on Netflix's "Sweet Home" season 1 and the movie "Owl", will play the new role.
"I was a big fan of 'Hell 1' and also a fan of director Yeon Sang-ho. It's rare to see someone in this genre in Korea, and the role of Jung Jin-soo itself was a big hit.
Above all, director Yeon Sang-ho said that by recreating the key scenes from Season 1 with Kim Sung Cheol, he hopes to create a new image of Jung
I tried to remove the awkwardness of Jin-soo being replaced by Kim Sung Cheol. "The director must have been worried about whether to film it again, but I wanted to make it clear that I was Jung Jin-soo.
I had to film it because I needed to show it to the viewers. If you've watched it closely, you'll notice that the lines are quite different. I tried to keep the lines from the original as much as possible.
When I received the script, the lines from season 1 were still there, but I couldn't do it because I had a strong image of Yu A In sunbae. I thought I should stick to the original as much as possible."
Kim Sung Cheol also emphasized that he believes that the deeper side of Jung Jin Soo's inner self is revealed in Season 2 compared to Season 1.
"In Season 1, Jeong Jin-soo is the head of the New Truth Council and is the one who wears the mask of a big lie.
But in season 2, I think he's revealed a deeper side to himself. That's why he looks much weaker and more human. That's what the monologue at the beginning of the season emphasized.
I may have been trying to make it look like I was there, but I wanted to express anxiety and fear more than anything." I think it's natural that I'll be compared to Yu A In, but I'm still happy to be in "Hell 2."
"I think it's inevitable that I'll be compared to Yu A In. I watched season 1 and the character she played, Jung Jin Soo, is burned into my mind. I think I've done everything I can to help her.
I put my all into it so I have no regrets. I've seen a lot of Yu A In's work and she's one of my favorite actors, so I'm grateful to be compared to her.
I think that even if I had done the exam, I would have been compared to the others. So I think it was good that I did it."
