A passenger plane heading to Jeju in South Korea had to undergo engine repairs for more than two hours with over 180 passengers on board, causing passengers to express concern.
According to News 1 on the 14th, a Jeju Air passenger plane that had departed Daegu and was heading to Jeju at around 8:30 a.m. the previous day stopped due to an engine malfunction.
While the plane was moving towards the runway, an engine malfunction was discovered and the plane turned back for maintenance. Contrary to the announcement that it was just doing minor maintenance, the 188 passengers on board were taken to the airport for over two hours.
The plane departed at 11:24 a.m., three hours later than scheduled, and the 20 or so passengers complained of anxiety and got off the plane.
Previously, on the 18th of last month, a departure on the same route was delayed by more than three hours due to a warning light error.
Jeju Air apologized for the inconvenience and said it would pay 20,000 won (about 2,200 yen) in compensation per person.
