Japan, the United States and the ROK Joint Statement adopted: ”Institutionalizing partnership...Establishing a joint secretariat”

The leaders of Japan, the United States and South Korea adopted a joint statement at a tripartite summit held during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on the 15th (local time).
The key points of the agreement include establishing a joint secretariat as part of the partnership building, expanding security cooperation, achieving complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and strengthening economic partnership.
Prime Minister Ishiba, South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl, and U.S. President Biden held a summit at the Lima Convention Center in the afternoon of the same day.
The leaders of the three countries agreed to strengthen expansion and deterrence cooperation through the Japan-U.S. alliance and the U.S.-ROK alliance in order to strengthen security.
They also strongly condemned Russia's decision to send troops to Ukraine to support North Korea's involvement in the war.
They also pledged to deepen economic and security cooperation by accelerating the MSP (Multilateral Strategy Forum), and to establish a new tripartite framework for cooperation on next-generation core emerging technologies.
