LG Display to invest additional 1.4 trillion won in Vietnam factory over five years
LG Display (034220) has decided to invest an additional 1.4 trillion won (US$1.4 billion) in its production facilities in Vietnam over the next five years.
According to a major foreign news agency, on the 15th, the Haiphong city government in Vietnam announced that LG Display will invest $1 billion (approximately 154.5 billion yen) over the next five years.
If this investment goes ahead, LG Display's total investment in Vietnam will increase to $5.65 billion.
Hai Phong is the largest port city in northern Vietnam, and is home to many Korean companies and small and medium-sized subcontractors. LG Display's Hai Phong factory was completed in 2017.
