According to a major foreign news agency, on the 15th, the Haiphong city government in Vietnam announced that LG Display will invest $1 billion (approximately 154.5 billion yen) over the next five years.
If this investment goes ahead, LG Display's total investment in Vietnam will increase to $5.65 billion.
Hai Phong is the largest port city in northern Vietnam, and is home to many Korean companies and small and medium-sized subcontractors. LG Display's Hai Phong factory was completed in 2017.
With this additional investment, LG Display plans to steadily operate its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) module factory.
