Trademark rights for Daejong Film Festival put up for public sale, will there be a buyer? (South Korea)

Following the bankruptcy of the Korean Film Producers Association (KFGA), the Daejong Film Festival is being put up for sale to the public in order to restore its normalcy. The Seoul Film Producers Association was the first to put itself forward as a potential buyer.
The law firm Gou, which represents the creditors of the Korea Film Federation, announced on the 18th that it would sell the trademark rights of the Daejong Film Festival. The party that acquires the trademark rights in this bidding will operate the film festival.
The bidding will be conducted in a manner that the lowest bid price will be determined by the conditions of the buyer with the first bidder, and additional bidders who offer more favorable conditions will be invited. The minimum selling price will be 5,600
The bid is set to close on the 22nd, with the bidder opening the bid on the 25th. However, the highest bidder will not be able to win the bid immediately.
The selection will be made based on a comprehensive review of the festival's hosting capacity, etc. Therefore, only non-profit organizations that can host a film festival can participate in the bidding process, and they must submit documents to prove their hosting capacity.
The selection of the successful bidder will also depend on whether the preferred bidder exercises their right to purchase. Currently, the Seoul Filmmakers Association, the successor to the General Federation of Filmmakers, has put itself forward as the preferred bidder.
The Daejong Film Festival began in 1962 and is the longest-running festival in Korea. However, the Korea Film Festival Association, which runs the festival, has filed for bankruptcy.
So it remains unclear whether the event will be held.
