Trump declares national emergency, mobilizes military to deport illegal immigrants? ... ”It's true!”

US President-elect Donald Trump has hinted that he may mobilize the military to carry out the large-scale deportation of illegal immigrants, which he has pledged to carry out immediately after taking office (January 20th next year).

A national emergency can be declared at the discretion of the President and can redirect Congressional funds for other purposes.
During his first term, Trump declared a national emergency to free up more money for the construction of a barrier between Mexico and the United States.
Stephen Miller, Trump's immigration policy adviser and White House deputy chief of staff, said in an interview with the New York Times in November 2023 that he plans to become the next White House deputy chief of staff.
Miller has also threatened to use public health emergency powers to limit asylum hearings.
