Kian84, who saw the runners in unique outfits and the endless line of supporters, commented, "I didn't expect it to be this bad.
"The 42.195km was as lively as Hong Dae at 10pm on Saturday night," he said. He also spotted the Taegeukgi (South Korean national flag) in the cheering procession and shouted "Go for it" even louder.
However, Kian84 faced a crisis as he passed the 20km mark. His stamina was rapidly declining and his breathing began to become tangled, causing him to lose his pace.
"It was hell," he said of his feelings at the time. He also said that the course for the New York City Marathon had a steep incline, and that the Queensboro Bridge was nicknamed the "Bridge of Death" by runners.
Running uphill with reduced stamina, Kian84 expressed frustration that things weren't going as he had hoped.
