Air Seoul's Takamatsu route resumption celebrates 2nd anniversary...about 250,000 passengers (Korea)
South Korean low-cost carrier (LCC) Air Seoul announced on the 23rd of this month that it has "marked the second anniversary of the resumption of operations on the Takamatsu route."
Takamatsu is the symbolic route where Air Seoul started its first international flight since its establishment in 2016.
It is the first small city regional airport in Japan to resume operations in 2022 after the COVID-19 outbreak. It currently operates seven times a week, departing Incheon at 8:45 a.m.
Its convenient schedule makes it popular with tourists. In the past two years, about 250,000 passengers have traveled between Japan and Korea on Air Seoul aircraft, with an average occupancy rate of about 86%.
The success of Air Seoul's Takamatsu route has led to a boom in travel to small Japanese cities in South Korea and promoted revitalization of exchanges between the two countries, including the development of a variety of new routes.
To mark the second anniversary of the resumption of service to Takamatsu, Air Seoul held a celebration event at the local airport and offered thank-you gifts to passengers.
An Air Seoul official said, "Thanks to the support of our customers, Air Seoul's flagship route, Takamatsu, has been resumed.
"We are now celebrating our second anniversary," he said, adding, "We will continue to do our best to make trips to Takamatsu enjoyable through a variety of promotions and partnerships."
