FTISLAND's Choi Min-hwan's ex-wife YULHEE's allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking revealed by him have been dismissed due to ”insufficient evidence”

Choi Min-hwan (FTISLAND) has ended his case by the police's decision not to send him to court amidst sex trafficking and indecent assault charges.

According to a media report on the 29th, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station made a decision on this day not to send the case against Choi Min-hwan on charges under the Sex Trafficking Punishment Act and indecent assault due to lack of evidence. The position is that there is insufficient evidence to substantiate the criminal charges.

On the 24th October, Yulhee, Choi Min-hwan ex-wife, exposed Choi Min-hwan's sex trafficking and indecent acts. Yulhee stated that Choi Min-hwan went in and out of brothels during their marriage and disclosed recordings of conversations with people she believed to be involved in the brothels.

Yulhee also revealed the fact that Choi Min-hwan committed indecent acts at a family gathering, such as folding and shoving money into Yulhee's chest and touching her vital parts.

Choi Min-hwan suspended all media activities after this and was removed from the programmes he had appeared on. He was unable to attend the scheduled performances of ‘FTISLAND’ and ‘FTISLAND’ continued their activities as a two-man band.

A citizen submitted a civil petition to the Kookmin Newspaper asking for an investigation into Choi Min-hwan's allegations of sex trafficking and indecent assault. The accuser claimed that he touched his wife Yulhee's breasts and other major parts of her body in the presence of family members together, which is not in line with his right to sexual self-determination.

In response, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul launched a pre-case investigation and Choi Min-hwan was charged with sex trafficking and indecent assault. However, the police concluded that the evidence was insufficient and made a decision not to refer the case.

However, Choi Min-hwan still has a legal case against Yulhee. Yulhee recently submitted an application to the Seoul Family Court for a change of custody and an adjustment to her claim for alimony and property division. Yulhee has been trying to regain custody.

Meanwhile, Choi Min-hwan and Yul Hee got married in 2018 and had three children, but divorced last year.
