UK intelligence chief: Ending aid to Ukraine will make North Korea bolder
The warning was that "if Russia wins the war in Ukraine, North Korea may take even bolder action."
According to a report by the British economic newspaper Financial Times (FT) on the 29th of last month (local time),
"If we don't help Ukraine, the losses will be endless," said Richard Moore, head of the British Secret Intelligence Service (M16). "China will be carefully considering the consequences, and North Korea will be more emboldened."
"If the United States and Iran were to agree to a deal, they would be even more dangerous than they are now," he said. "North Korea's support for Russia with weapons such as missiles and artillery shells and its dispatch of more than 10,000 troops is in violation of international law and the UN's anti-North Korea measures.
"This is a violation of the arbitration resolution. Despite warnings from the international community, North Korea has begun to support Russia both materially and spiritually, and if Russia wins, it may launch more blatant provocations."
Moore also speculated that a victory for Russian President Vladimir Putin would pose an even greater threat to all of Europe.
Moore's comments were met with skepticism from former President Donald Trump (now the president-elect) about aid to Ukraine.
This appears to have been done with this in mind.
