A woman in her 30s who is suspected of posting defamatory comments about singer and actress IU was sentenced to a fine in the first instance trial.
On the 3rd (today), Seoul Central District Criminal Court 16 Exclusive announced that a woman in her 30s, A, who was indicted on charges of defamation, was fined 3 million won.
The court sentenced Mr. A to 320,000 yen (approximately 320,000 yen). Mr. A attended the trial without bond. Prior to the verdict, the court asked Mr. A if he had come to an agreement with the victim, but Mr. A replied that he had not.

The court explained its reasons for the sentence, saying, "We took into consideration the nature of the crime, the circumstances during which it was committed, and the fact that the defendant has a previous criminal history of being sentenced for a fine for defamation."
Meanwhile, IU is steadily filing charges of numerous crimes, including intimidation, insults, and disseminating illegal information.
